My studies focused on the fields of law and economics and over the years I have specialised further in transport, tourism, fashion and cosmetics.

In addition, I have been a translator for German, English and Spanish authorised by the Higher Regional Court of Cologne since 2018.

Winding words

Why choose Winding Words?

I often used to hear people say: “I’d do the translation myself, but I don’t have time.”

I’m still convinced, as I was back then, that you could indeed do it yourself, because you are the expert in your field after all. But are translating and proofreading documents part of your day-to-day job? I would be delighted to take these tasks off your hands and work closely with you to translate or correct your texts.

Today, the question is: “Why should I spend money on an external translation service or proofreading, when I can just use AI? It even writes texts for me.”

That’s true. Why should you still spend money on language services? AI creates texts, images, translations and much more in a matter of seconds. This is no doubt sufficient for internal purposes, where quality is not so important, and it doesn’t matter if the odd mistake slips through. But although AI is getting better and better, machines lack creativity and precision – and above all specialist knowledge. You should bear in mind that your texts are your calling card, they represent your company. They determine how you are perceived from the outside.

Long story short: Winding Words makes sure that AI doesn’t embarrass you. Have a language professional carry out the finishing touches or even a full translation.

Pro(file)

As part of my translation studies, I spent two semesters studying in Granada, Spain, and I lived and worked for several months in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Whenever I get the chance, I spend several weeks in a Spanish- or English-speaking country. This keeps me up to date and allows me to better understand the nuances of the languages and cultures, which I can then incorporate into my translations and texts.

I’m always curious about new things. My passion for languages goes hand in hand with travelling. For me, it’s more than a hobby. It’s a source of inspiration and cultural enrichment. Every new country I visit brings unique experiences and stories.

Besides travelling, I’m a passionate cook. I like the classics and am open to almost any new culinary discovery. There are few things I find more relaxing than conjuring up a dinner for friends and seeing their happy faces afterwards. I like to recreate dishes that I discovered and tried on my travels.

I exercise regularly to clear my head and stay fit. Whether cycling, hiking or dancing – for me, exercise provides the perfect balance to my working day. It helps me to recharge my batteries and stay creative.

Certified translation

Government agencies, authorities and other public institutions sometimes require certified translations of certificates and documents. These include birth, marriage and death certificates, degrees, employment references and other references, extracts from the commercial register and other documents.

As a translator for German, English and Spanish authorised by the Higher Regional Court of Cologne, I can certify with my signature and stamp the accuracy and completeness of translations of documents from English and Spanish into German and vice versa (Section 142 (3) of the German Code of Civil Procedure (Zivilprozessordnung)).

Pricing for a language service

Language services include translations, proofreading, editing, transcreation and localisation. Depending on the service required, the price may be based on the number of words, lines or hours. I will provide you with a quote based on your information and documents.

Translation tools

Using translation tools means that I can reduce prices if there are repetitions of sentences or segments. Another advantage: translation tools ensure the consistency of translations. I would be happy to explain the features and potential uses of translation tools to you in person.
